Cozy Mystery - This book has no graphic violence, harsh language, or explicit intimacy. The crimes are solved by ordinary people instead of the police. 

Monsters Real or Imagined - Monsters can come in many forms. Not all have claws and fangs. Humankind can be just as scary and even your own mind can play tricks on you. 

Dark Academia - This genre doesn't take place in a specific time period, but usually is set in nostalgic institutions that stand the test of time. It is an aesthetic, not just a subgenre.
