learningexpressLearningExpress contains academic and career-related solutions in one easy to use platform. It includes skill-building in reading, writing, math, science, college admissions exams, occupational licensing tests, workplace skills improvement, career exploration, computer skills and much more! The subscription also includes Job & Career Accelerator, a platform where job seekers can explore occupations, scholarships, jobs, learn how to write resumes and gain skills.

To get started click on this link and go to Sign In/Register on the menu. Click Register under New User. To create an account simply enter your name and email address and create a password. If you would rather not use an email click on "I'd rather NOT register with my email" and enter in a username, password and security question. Make sure and write these down as the library cannot retrieve them. We hope you enjoy this offering sponsored by the VT Department of Libraries. 

VOLThe Vermont Online Library (VOL) is a Gale database which can be used to search for magazine articles and other information, some of which is in full text. This resource may be used anywhere in Vermont, no login is required! Want to use it on your mobile device? There is also an App available for use on Apple and Android devices - get it by going here. There are databases for adults, teens, children, business people, and those searching for medical information. Some of the magazine article available in full text are from Time, Newsweek, Consumer Reports & Glamour just to name a few! 

universalclass1Universal Class, an online continuing education program, is available to Dorothy Alling Library patrons at no cost! There are over 500 classes available in many subject areas such as arts and crafts, medical skills, finance, genealogy,  personal care, animal care, career development and more! Each person is welcome to enroll in up to five courses at one time and will have up to six months to finish each course. Every course has a real instructor that can be communicated with via email. To use, simply go to Universal Class and enter in the full barcode number on your Dorothy Alling Library card.

  

heartwifilogoLUV (Overdrive), a GMLC (Green Mountain Library Consortium) project, provides downloadable audio and eBooks. The collection contains around 17,000 items. The library is also an Overdrive Advantage library which means we have the option to purchase popular items solely for our patrons use. Login to LUV to gain access to these items. We recommend using the Libby app with LUV. To access you will need your full Dorothy Alling Library card barcode number and password.
 

rbdigitalbooksRBDigital, through the Vermont Department of Libraries, offers downloadable audio and eBooks. The collection contains around 10,000 items, mostly audiobooks. Register using your full Dorothy Alling Library barcode number from your library card which will lead you  through setting up an account. Select Department of Libraries from the menu when prompted to choose a library during setup. After registering you will use the username and password that you created during registration. 

 

 


hoopla logoHoopla Digital is a media service through which you may access and enjoy over half a million titles in six different formats: Movies, TV, Music, eAudiobooks, eBooks, Comics & Graphic Novels. With Hoopla there are no hold lists!

On mobile devices, borrowed materials can be temporarily downloaded and accessed offline via the app or on a computer. As a Dorothy Alling Memorial Library cardholder, you may borrow up to 3 items per month.

To register for Hoopla Digital simply download the Hoopla Digital app from Apple or Google Play on your mobile device and enter your Dorothy Alling library card barcode and password. Hoopla also works with most Roku and Fire TV devices.

 

mangolanguagesMake learning a new language part of your life with Mango. The Friends of the Dorothy Alling Library are pleased to sponsor an online language-learning product named Mango. This free service is available to all DAML cardholders. Pick from over 70 languages as well as ESL (English as a second language) courses, movies in other languages and specialty courses.

Pick a basic course to quickly learn basic words and phrases or a complete course to move beyond the basics! There are also apps available for iPad's, iPhone's and Androids. rbdigitalmagazinesWe are happy to offer RBdigital Magazines for Libraries! DAML patrons may browse, checkout and read magazines in a browser or via a mobile app. Once a magazine is checked out it may be be kept as long as you wish.
